Yering Station Wedding Photographer in the Yarra Valley
Editorial wedding photography and film at Victoria’s first vineyard, for couples who want their celebration remembered exactly as it felt.
A Yarra Valley wedding, told with intention
We are La Este Film, a husband-and-wife photography and film studio led by Courtney and Hamish Lawrence, telling wedding stories with an editorial eye since 2013. Yering Station is the Yarra Valley at its most elegant: stone architecture, sweeping lawns and long views to the Yarra Ranges, all in soft valley light. We arrive early, stay late and tell the whole story, from the first quiet moments of the morning to the last song of the night.
About Yering Station, Yarra Valley
Established in 1838, Yering Station is Victoria’s first vineyard and the birthplace of the Yarra Valley wine region. The estate’s heritage cellar door is housed in its original winery building, dating to around 1859, and today the family-owned estate is known for its classic cool-climate wines.
Its signature restaurant sits within striking contemporary architecture overlooking the Yarra Ranges, surrounded by expansive gardens and lawns. From intimate ceremonies to grand receptions, the estate pairs award-winning wine and food with a setting that feels both historic and quietly modern.
Julia & Andrew
Julia and Andrew married at Yering Station in early autumn, on a mid-March day full of soft light across the vines. They embodied the very essence of soft and romantic elegance, and their exuberant energy moved through everyone. Julia got ready with her bridesmaids at The Barn Yarra Valley, wearing Cherie by Oui. After a ceremony led by Kate Haley, the day moved between quiet editorial portraits among the estate’s gardens and vineyards and pure, euphoric celebration, with gelato served in lemons and a dance floor that never emptied. We photographed and filmed their day, and between the editorial moments there was never a lack of genuine emotion. View the full story.

Planning your Yering Station wedding
Light and timing
Early autumn in the Yarra Valley brings soft, gentle light across the vines and a sun that sets earlier than in high summer. We plan portraits for the long golden hour before dusk, when the light settles over the estate, so the glow carries into the evening.
The estate and the valley
Within a few steps of one another, Yering Station offers heritage stone, timber colonnades, sweeping lawns, gardens and views across the valley floor to the Yarra Ranges. Many couples get ready nearby in the valley, and we plan the timeline so travel between locations feels effortless.

Our multi-day coverage includes welcome events, the wedding day and recovery days, so the whole celebration is told as one story.
