We like to think of La Este as an elevated and sophisticated brand represented by a truly down to earth duo, Hamish & Courtney. It will feel as we are an extension of your family or bridal party, we aim to end the night saying our farewells with lots of well wishes, hugs and wishing you all the best on honeymoon or your future endeavours together.

We are true professionals with 15+ combined years of experience, we walk into your day full of excitement and the utmost desire for you both to have the best day possible, were truly passionate about our craft and about weddings, whilst we’re perfectly curating your fleeting moments we’re cracking jokes, smiling behind the camera at your candid moments that we’re privileged to capture, laughing at your best mans speech, offering a five-star service approach and truly being apart of your day whilst simultaneously perfecting every frame.

Can you offer vendor recommendations?

Of course, once we have locked in your date with a deposit we will send you our carefully curated list of recommended suppliers that we know and love to work alongside. We will ensure you have a range of options to choose from and ensure your day runs smoothly with handpicked talents we have witnessed whilst capturing weddings.

As no two weddings are the same, we offer fully bespoke and customisable packages, please enquire with us in regards to curating the perfect package for your wedding day. We have available a bespoke pricing guide that we can send to you on request.

Do La Este Film offer film photos?

We’re pleased to offer it to those who book the La Este All Day package. Please contact us for more information.

Here at La Este Film, we know creating that nostalgic, perfectly imperfect feel to your wedding photos with film photography is a desire for some couples. The warmth and depth of colour combine with the softness of the grain to deliver images that feel more personal and human.

We want to be transparent & inform those who are wanting to add film photography to their package that there is always more risk with the film process although when handled and transported correctly the risk is low.

Film photography will be developed digitally and published in your online gallery alongside your digital wedding photos.

Do La Este Film travel overseas to capture weddings or elopements?

Yes! We certainly do and we will be travelling to different parts of Europe, USA and abroad in 2025 & 2026.

Turnaround time for email responses.

We are so excited that you have reached out to us to potentially capture your wedding! We do receive all of your emails and check spam regularly, if you have sent an email we will get back to you within 48-72 business hours. We will take longer to reply to emails on weekends as we are capturing weddings. We are extremely busy during peak season, capturing weddings, editing all throughout the week, attending to life personal matters and keeping on top of our emails! Please be patient, we will get back to you as soon as we can as we know you’re itching to get it all locked in and organised!

How many creatives will be present on the day?

We pride ourselves on our ability to capture every single intricate detail of your day with just two team members, one for photography and one for videography. If you’re booking a photography & videography package. For photography only or videography only packages you will only have one team member allocated to capturing your day. There is a fee for adding additional photographers & videographers onto your package. Reach out if this is something you’re interested in and we can provide you with a personalised quote.

Refunds & Cancellations

As per the legal contract you sign when you book with us to capture your day, you are legally agreeing to forfeiting your deposit should you regretfully cancel your wedding or cancel your booking for any reason. This is a strict industry standard across all wedding suppliers. As much as we sympathise with those who must make that decision we have held that date and aren’t guaranteed to book it again. We understand this can be frustrating although we do ask you to thoughouly read the contract upon booking to avoid disappointment. Postponements, if you work with us willingly to choose a date we’re available we can hold your deposit and transfer it to the new date. Postponements that are rescheduled for a date we are not available will lead to your deposit being forfeited.

Do you travel?

Absolutely! If you're within and hour and half of Geelong, the travel is included. Outside of that we would need to give a quote based on the package and distance.

Can you assist us with a timeline?

Once you have secured your date with us and we have received your deposit, we will speak in regards to your timeline, closer to the date. We will offer our expertise advice on how to make the day as seamless as possible from a photography and videography perspective as we do this every weekend, all year around, we have your back.

How long should we allocate for portraits?

We generally suggest 1-1.5hrs, this can change depending on the day, bridal party numbers, weather and your own desires. This amount of time is a great starting point so we aren’t feeling rushed and we can focus on getting some incredible imagery of your bridal party and/or the two of you!

Travel Time

We often get asked, is travel time between locations we have to go to on the day included as apart of the set hours you have us there for on your wedding day? To answer as simply as possible, the moment we take our first photo is the moment we begin the clock so to speak. If you have a fair distance between your getting ready locations and venue, this does take away from the time we get to take your photos.

For example, if you are having us capturing your wedding for 9 hours and starting at the boys preparation at 11:00 and we have to travel to the girls preparation, ceremony, locations or reception we would still finish up at 8:00pm regardless of how much travelling there is.

Deposit

We require a 30% deposit to secure your booking. This allows us to confirm that you are totally keen to have us there for your day! The rest isn't due until the wedding day, but we highly encourage you to pay before then because who wants to be thinking about money on their wedding day? No one.

Do we supply raw footage?

We often get asked if we supply raw footage or photos to our couples. The short answer is no, it's not something we currently offer. The long answer is we capture our films and photos with specialised professional equipment so that we can give you a beautifully documented memory of your day. Because we use the best equipment, the raw footage and photos are very 'flat' colours that actually look pretty...average. This gives us greater control over editing the colours so that we can make those colours pop! 

The other reason is the file sizes are quite large. Generally, raw wedding photos are around 350GB and raw film footage is nearly 800GB! Yikes! Because of the file format of raw footage the average computer or phone won't be able to open it anyway. So those are some of the reason we don't offer raw footage or photos. 

You can rest assured that we sift through the thousands of photos and hours of footage to ensure you get the BEST moments, memories that will last forever. For those that want to see and hear all of your ceremony, speeches (because we all want to remember that crazy best man speech, right?), entrance and first dance, you can get all that and more in the Orion package. 

Extra Hours

At La Este films we understand that not every wedding is the same so we offer extra hours above the limited hours per package. They're charged at $300 per hour for film and photography. For the La Este All Day package a maximum of 11 hours can be captured. We honestly think you only truly need 9 hours to capture everything start to finish!

How many photos are delivered?

Depending on the day and how many photo opportunities there are other than the main events/ formailities, we aim to deliver approximately 400-1000 photos, we have delivered up to 1700 previously for a jam packed day full of photo opportunities, if you have props like cars or are bringing along dogs/animals, champagne tower, extra amount of bridal party members, traditions or have children etc, that would account for the extra photos we provide.

Editing styles.

Here at La Este Film, we pride ourselves on our editing style and describe it as natural, timeless and true to life. We do not alter our editing style to match other photographers/videographers or in any other fashion. We hope you have fallen in love with our style and then allow us the privilege to be apart of your special day.

Who will capture our day?

In most instances Hamish and Courtney will be capturing your day unless stated otherwise, if we are already booked although you love our style and would still like to work with us, we'll match you to one of our talented crew based on the needs of your day.

Turnaround Time

Our turnaround time is something we really pride ourselves on! For photography it's generally within one to two months. You might be on your honeymoon and get to see all of your photos edited and uploaded in all their glory. Amazing, right? We can get backlogged in peak seasons so you may experience a slightly longer turnaround time. The keepsakes may take a bit longer.

One thing we love to do is provide you 20-50 preview images 24-72 hours after your wedding which will be emailed to you, including a link to your online gallery showcasing the highlights from your day which you can then download all of the images from with ease.

For films the turnaround time for a highlights video is approx. 30-60 business days after your wedding. The formalities film is delivered approx. 30-70 business days after your wedding day. We take a lot of pride in your films, as award winning videographers, we know you’re itching to see everything although you will thank us for taking that little bit of extra time to ensure your highlights and formalities are perfect!

Do we receive any sneak peeks/preview photos?

You will receive correspondence from us in regards to your online gallery link which will beautifully display up to 50 edited photos provided to you 24-72 hours after your wedding day. This gives you the chance to share them with your friends and family and relive your special day as you jet off to your romantic honeymoon.

Payment plans

Yes! You can pay in increments as long as you let us know each time you're transferring the payment. It still needs to be paid in full by your wedding day, but this allows you to have more flexibility. We also offer a direct debit option that allows you to keep paying the balance off after the wedding and you'll still receive your photos/film as soon as we finish editing them.

We're based in Victoria, Australia.

Can you match another editing style?

Matching other creatives editing style isn't something we do or negotiate on.

If our style isn’t quite what you hoped, we can help point you in the right direction of another creative who is better suited to your special day.

Vows and\or speeches in the highlights film.

We like to edit highlights films with just music of your choosing instead of dialogue in normal circumstances as it strays away from our personal style.

We offer, in select packages, your full formalities recorded start to finish, here you can re-watch your ceremony as many times as you like and show your friends and family.

Do you offer livestreams?

We don’t have or provide the necessary high end equipment to ensure a 100% guaranteed livestream and therefore do not offer it.

We’re awkward with photos, can you help?

Yes! Thats part of our job. Don’t even worry, due to us loving candid photography & videography, it will all look natural! We love to crack jokes to get some genuine smiles, we will create genuine poses or movements, direct, guide you, put you in the best positions and locations to get the most out of your location and sunset allocated shoot time.

We’re having animals/dogs at the wedding, can you capture it?

Of course, we’re obsessed with dogs and other animals, being dog owners ourselves we know how important animals can be, they’re apart of the fam! We also know it can be tough to photograph them, but we always get the shot, we have loads of experience trying to capture our own dogs jumping around the place!

We’re having our ceremony at a church and holding traditional events, can you capture it?

Yes of course, we capture anything to do with weddings, no matter where it is!

Photography quality

We use the latest and greatest camera gear, so you'll receive incredibly high quality photos.

Prints

Some of our packages include a certain dollar amount that goes towards ordering your prints to proudly hang or display in your home and give to friends and family! You can order these prints via the website your photos and or films are displayed on. There are multiple sizes you can order, big or small, our images can be blown up to a large scale.

Delivery

We deliver our photos and films digitally. 

You can expect the online stuff first, as it's easier for us to upload that quickly. For photography you'll receive your photos online via an online gallery which will beautifully display your wedding day and the 30-50 preview photos which will be sent to you via email.

Films are also delivered on Pixieset so that you can download the full, original quality film. You'll also be sent a Vimeo link that you can easily share with you friends and family.

Videography quality

We use the latest and greatest gear. At the moment we're capturing beautiful 4K high quality films. These are delivered in full 4K quality which looks amazing - even on the biggest of TVs!
