Crete Wedding Photographer at Agreco Farm

Editorial wedding photography in Rethymno, Crete, for couples who want their celebration remembered exactly as it felt.

A Cretan wedding, told with intention

We are La Este Film, a husband-and-wife studio led by Courtney and Hamish Lawrence. Since 2013 we have photographed weddings with an editorial eye and a quiet presence, and Crete holds a particular kind of magic for us: warm air, grand olive trees, curated stone walls and bougainvillea spilling over every corner. We arrive early, stay late and tell the whole story, from the first private moments of the morning to the last dance of the night.

About Agreco Farm, Rethymno

Agreco Farm sits on a hilltop at Adele, just outside Rethymno on Crete’s north coast, looking out over olive groves, vineyards and the Cretan sea. Once an olive grove and summer house of the Daskalantonakis family, founders of Grecotel, it was transformed from 2000 into a working estate celebrating traditional Cretan farming and cuisine. A watermill, olive and wine presses, a village square and its own small chapel give it the feel of a village that has stood for centuries, and celebrations unfold at long tables beneath the olive trees.

Cassandra & Michael

In late-summer August 2025, Cassandra and Michael celebrated their newlywed status at Agreco Farm, in the hills above Rethymno. With so much eagerness and excitement, they shared a first touch during the morning preparations: private exchanges of love and affirmation before the ceremony began. Against a breathtaking backdrop of grand olive trees, vast ocean views, warm air and curated stone walls, with bougainvillea draping over every corner, their love was elegant, playful and intimate. It was an honour to photograph their day on the magical island of Crete. We can’t wait to be back.

Planning your Crete wedding

Light and timing

Crete’s summer light is warm and strong. We plan portraits for the soft hours of the morning and the long golden hour before sunset, so the evening glow carries into dinner beneath the olive trees.

On the estate

Flowered stone stairways, pastel walls, weathered wooden doors, the village square, olive groves and hilltop views to the sea give us a wealth of settings within a few steps of one another.

Multi-day coverage

Destination weddings are rarely a single day. Our multi-day coverage includes welcome events, the wedding day and recovery days, so the whole celebration, and everyone who travelled to be there, is told as one story.

35mm film

Every standard package includes two rolls of 35mm film, adding a timeless, tactile layer alongside our digital work. Discover our 35mm film wedding photography.

We photograph weddings across Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Europe (Italy, Greece, Switzerland, France, Germany and Sweden), and anywhere in the world.
