A hinterland wedding, told with intention
We are La Este Film, a husband-and-wife photography and film studio led by Courtney and Hamish Lawrence, telling wedding stories with an editorial eye since 2013. Maleny Manor gives us green lawns that roll toward the coast, a white manor house on the hill and gardens heavy with colour. We work with a calm, unhurried presence, so the day unfolds naturally and we tell the whole story, from the first quiet moments of getting ready to the last dance of the night.
About Maleny Manor
Established in 1989, Maleny Manor is a private 30-acre estate in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, dedicated exclusively to weddings and events. The property looks out over sweeping coastal views that stretch to Mount Coolum, and the estate is yours alone for the celebration.
There are three ceremony settings, all with coastal views: a garden ceremony beneath the Crows Ash tree, the sandstone-paved pavilion, or the elevated grass helipad, with a wet-weather alternative in reserve. Canapés unfold in the festoon-lit garden, and seven ensuite accommodation rooms on the manor’s second level keep the wedding party close.

Alicia and Ezra celebrated among the lush green hues and scenic coastal views of Maleny Manor, a private estate in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Their thoughtfully kept guest list brought together genuine, spirit-filled family and friends, there to truly celebrate them and reminisce on the relationship that led to this very day. Prayer was an integral part of their story, and it ran through the whole celebration.

Light and timing
Alicia and Ezra married in September, when spring in the hinterland brings green lawns, gardens in flower and skies that can move from bright to soft cloud within the hour. Soft cloud gives gentle, flattering light on the open lawns, and we keep couple portraits flexible around the afternoon so we can move with the light as it changes.
Ceremony settings and views
With three ceremony locations, all with coastal views, and a wet-weather alternative on the estate, we plan the timeline around the setting you choose. The Crows Ash tree, the pavilion and the helipad each frame the view differently, and the estate’s privacy means portraits can roam the whole property.
Multi-day coverage
Our multi-day coverage includes welcome events, the wedding day and recovery days, so the whole celebration is told as one story.
