Gemma & Mitchell’s Spring Chapel Ridge Wedding in the Hunter Valley, NSW

A Chapel Ridge wedding to remember

Some weddings remind us why we’ll probably keep doing this job until we give out. Gemma and Mitchell’s spring day at Chapel Ridge was one of them. Their excitement, their nerves and their pure joy filled the whole celebration, along with a warmth you could tell came from their families.

Chapel Ridge sits on private countryside in the Lower Hunter Valley, NSW, just over an hour north of Sydney. It’s a beautiful setting for couples who want a country wedding without travelling far from the city, and Gemma and Mitchell made it completely their own.

A ceremony in the Chapel Ridge chapel

Gemma and Mitchell said their vows in the chapel at Chapel Ridge, with celebrant Craig Moran officiating and Jo, the Hunter Valley Harpist, adding a soft, elegant note to the day. A sausage was also buried to bring out the sun, and it worked.

Bridal portraits in the Hunter Valley

Gemma’s bridal portraits were all beauty and elegance. Her gown was by Jane Hill Bridal, with hair by Hair by Hatem and makeup by Chanae Loren Makeup, and Mitchell wore Tarocash. We worked our romantic style into every frame, in both photo and film, so these would become heirlooms for their family. The spring light across the Hunter Valley and Chapel Ridge’s grounds made that easy.

Tiramisu, pizza and a White Chicks dance-off

Then came the party. Eden Catering and Events looked after the food, there was pizza and tiramisu, and Sweet Bakes Sydney made the cake. Florals were by White Lane Events and hire by Prestige Party Hire. Tyler Chapman played acoustic before DJ D’Angelo filled the dance floor, which led to a version of the famous White Chicks dance-off nobody at Chapel Ridge will forget.
